ThinkVantage System für aktiven Festplattenschutz (ThinkVantage Active Protection System) is a Lenovo utility for select ThinkPad laptops designed to protect traditional hard disk drives from damage caused by sudden shocks or drops. Using the laptop’s built-in accelerometer, it detects rapid movement and temporarily parks the drive heads, helping prevent data loss and hardware failure. The software runs quietly in the background with minimal performance impact and lets you tailor sensitivity and behavior based on power source or usage. It is intended for systems with mechanical hard drives; on models equipped with solid-state drives, it provides no benefit and may be disabled.
